Are you ready for Day 11? Great! Here we go!

Today your challenge is: Pray more for your family.

There are so many time-stealers throughout our busy life. Social media, TV, traffic and the list goes on! But, don’t let anything come between you and praying for your family.

Do you see your husband getting discouraged? Instead of prodding him about the issue, pray for him more! Are your kids exhibiting some negative behavior? Train and teach them the right way and take those issues to God in prayer. Are your finances tight? Don’t grumble and complain. Instead, take your budget, bills and work circumstances to the Lord. He sees all things and knows all things. No one else can solve your problems better than God.

I Peter 5:7 reminds us why we should cast all our cares upon Christ.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Don’t be fooled into believing that anyone else loves you as much as Christ does. Why not take your family issues to him? He loves and cares about your family issues more than any human can comprehend! Not only that, but He knows the solution to every single problem, and He can guide you to it.

When I was a senior in high school, I had a substitute teacher come in and teach on marriage. Little did I know that the substitute teacher’s words would stick with me — even to this day. She told all the girls in the class this great bit of wisdom:

“Don’t let anyone out-pray you when it comes to your husband.”

She mentioned that her husband never closed the shower curtain back after his shower and other small, unimportant habits. But, she said, those things did not bother her. She just went behind him and fixed those things. But the larger things in his life that she could not fix, she took those issues to God.

Ladies, your home can be transformed just by you spending extra time on your knees. Time and time again I have seen God take issues in our home, that I thought were insurmountable, and resolve those issues in literally minutes. Things I thought were going to cause great devastation, God already had a plan in store and fixed everything even better than I could have imagined!

Of all my munchkins, I have one girl that was extremely feisty as a toddler and preschooler. She was smart, but sassy and stubborn. One night, I wept in my bed for a long time about her attitude. I tried all the parenting techniques and I seemed to be getting absolutely nowhere. After many tears, I fell asleep.

The next morning, that same girl walked into my room and said, “Mommy, can I help you with something?” I was shocked! There she was smiling so sweetly and genuinely trying to make my day happy. I immeddiately knew that God had worked in her little heart. Not only that, but God was teaching me to be more dependent upon Him for everything in my life — even the journey of parenting!

Ladies, if you desire your family to be a happy place where everyone can find solace and rest, pray more for your husband and children. They are faced with battles and temptations everyday. They need their wife and mother backing them up with prayer. When it comes to your family, pray without ceasing! Don’t give up and cast all of your cares upon Christ!
