He began his hiccuping journey when a 300-pound hog collapsed on top of him. After that incident, he began hiccuping every ten seconds. Osborne underwent several operations to cure his hiccups, but none of them were successful. His hiccups finally ceased one year before his death.

  • Eat 1 tablespoon peanut butter. If you’re an American mom, most likely, you keep this item stocked in the pantry! What’s childhood without peanut butter and jelly?
  • Hold your breath while you jump up and down.
  • Hold your breath then slowly exhale.
  • Drink a glass of water with a metal spoon in it.
  • Drink one teaspoon of lemon juice.
  • Drink one teaspoon of vinegar.
  • Drink something while someone pulls on your earlobes.
  • Get scared silly!
  • Drink from the far side of a glass.
  • Bite on a lemon.
  • Gargle with water.
  • Pull hard on your tongue.
  • Bring your knees to chest and hug them for a few minutes.
  • Put gentle pressure on your nose while you swallow.
  • Put some granulated sugar in your mouth, and once it melts, swallow it.
  • Put 1 teaspoon of honey, stirred in warm water, on the back of your tongue, and swallow it.
  • Eat some powdered chocolate drink mix (cocoa or Ovaltine) right off the spoon. (Not an easy task, but works wonders!)
