Mmm-hmm…grilled smothered Reuben’s make the mommy week just a little bit more manageable. Thanks to Sara Lee® Artesano™ Bread for letting me use their ahh-mazing bread in one of my favorite sandwhich recipes on planet earth!
I have to make a confession. I love me some grilled sandwiches — but I especially love them when my oh-so-cute hubby makes them! Yes, he insisted on making these Reubens for me — who was I to argue?
I loved watching him get the grilled bread to utter perfection before spreading on a glob of mouthwatering Thousand Island dressing. There’s just something about my husband cooking for me — just takes romance up a notch!
Then he ever-so-perfectly spooned on the sauerkraut and placed the slices of corned beef gently on top. It’s really an art when you watch this guy make a sandwich — especially if the grill is involved!
Have you ever made homemade bread with your family? My kids ( all six of them) use to make bread with me in the kitchen every two weeks. But then life got too chaotic to make our own. however, I was thrilled when I spotted Sara Lee® Artesano™ Bread at my local grocery store. There was still flour on the bread and my kids were begging for more! It made me feel not-so-guilty for ditching the homemade bread scene several years go.
And my family could taste the difference in this bread versus other store brands. The homemade taste is without artificial flavors, colors or high fructose corn syrup — definitely a plus for our family as we ever-so-slowly make healthy changes to our lifestyle. It’s definitely an ideal substitute for any bakery-style bread in a favorite sandwich! And April is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich month — so celebrate with this gorgeous, cheesy grilled Reuben. You can thank me later for giving you this super-awesome idea — wink, wink!
Enjoy the recipe below — and print it out for super-easy convenience!
