Anyone up for some Christmas s’mores? These easy, fun treats will be a hit at your next holiday gathering.
With “Jingle Bells” and “Silent Night” playing in your favorite shopping places, most moms are already planning for Christmas parties and family get-togethers. This recipe comes just in time for you to plan some easy-peasy baking!
The holidays can become quite stressful. That is why I like to stick to simple desserts and treats for our family. I still want to have a smile on my face and a clean kitchen when it’s time to be the hostess with the mostess — even if I am only hosting my kids and hubby!
Very little baking is involved in these goodies, and yes those are chocolate cookies you see in the s’mores recipe.
I got the inspiration from a good friend when we ran into one another at the grocery store. Like good friends do, we began discussing food. Chocolatey, Christmas food — to be exact. I told her about my idea of a Christmas s’more. She thought the peppermint sounded dee-lish, but added that her son’s favorite s’mores were made with chocolate chip cookies. Hmmm…I was intrigued.
A few minutes later, we bid adieu and I turned my cart around and went back to the sugary snack isle. Those boxed, chocolate chip cookies were begging me to take them home and try out some cookie s’mores. After taste-testing these munchies, I have to say, s’mores made with cookies was a genius idea! Thanks, Becky!
Every year I look forward to the chocolate mint goodies of Christmas. So, I just HAD to throw in some crushed candy canes. That was my favorite part of the yummy s’mores. Chocolate and peppermint just belong together, don’t you agree?
Enjoy this Christmas S’mores recipe and have fun keeping the holidays yummy, but simple!
