These homemade Oreos are a fun, easy twist on the classic sandwich cookie everyone loves. Made with a rich chocolate cake mix base, mini chocolate chips, and a sweet vanilla frosting filling, this homemade Oreo recipe is soft, chocolaty, and perfect for parties, lunchboxes, and after-school treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • ½ cup crushed or chopped almonds
  • 1 container Pillsbury whipped vanilla frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Now, mix cake mix, eggs and oil until thoroughly incorporated.
  3. Next, stir in chocolate chips and almonds.
  4. Line three cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Now, roll teaspoonfuls of cookie dough into balls.
  6. For mini cookies, roll ½ tsp for one cookie.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. If making mini cookies, bake for 5-8 minutes.
  9. Remove cookies from oven and let cool.
  10. Once cooled, spread on one teaspoon of frosting onto one cookie and place another cookie on top to create a sandwich.
  11. Gently twist the top cookie until it sticks to the frosting.
  12. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Enjoy!
