This classic green bean casserole uses mushroom soup, green beans, and french fried onions to make a classic, holiday side dish everyone loves!

Ingredients

  • 6 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, french style or cut, drained
  • 2 cans (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 cans (6 oz) french fried onions (or a homemade version!)

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350˚F.
    2. In a large bowl, combine drained beans, soup and milk until well mixed.
    3. Stir in 1 cup fried onions.
    4. Pour into prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
    5. Bake for 25–30 minutes.
    6. Remove from oven and add remaining fried onions.
    7. Bake for 5 minutes longer.
    8. Serve immediately.
    9. Store leftovers in airtight container.

Notes

Add 1/2 cups or one cup of cheddar cheese to green bean mixture, if desired.

Also, feel free to make this dish two days ahead of serving time.

Add real bacon bits and sliced, canned mushrooms to top of casserole the last few minutes of baking for an added flair!
