This cool and refreshing lime tea is the perfect way to beat the heat on a warm summer day. Made with freshly squeezed lime juice, brewed tea, and a touch of sugar, this homemade lime tea recipe is light, sweet, and tart, and comes together with just a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 regular-sized tea bags
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • Juice from 6 limes
  • Fresh mint or raspberries for a flavor twist and cute garnish

Instructions

  1. In 4 qt sauce pan or large tea kettle, boil water and tea bags together.
  2. After boiling, let steep for five minutes.
  3. Add sugar to a one gallon tea pitcher.
  4. Next, add boiled tea.
  5. Add enough drinking water to equal one gallon of tea.
  6. Now, add lime juice.
  7. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  8. Serve over ice and garnish with mint sprigs if desired.
  9. Best served very, very cold with lots of ice!
