These are the Easiest Flower Cupcakes I’ve Ever Made!
Did you know cupcakes and candy can actually create something beautiful?
These perfectly baked cupcakes are topped with jelly beans and they’re completely adorable!
My daughters and I made these cupcakes together because they’re totally girly!
Pretty colors…
Light and fluffy cupcakes…
A super easy frosting…
It was a super-fun, mommy/daughters baking day
I also LOVE baking cupcakes in the spring.
I thought about putting jelly beans inside these pretty cupcakes, but after much thought, I came to this conclusion: Just. Plain. Gross.
To give my spring cupcake and jelly bean love a try, I decided to just decorate with jelly beans — not bake with them!
Some things are just better left in their original form — like jelly beans for instance.
I also chose to go with a strawberry cupcake to keep the light, springy feel to these cupcakes.
We also opted for the pricier jelly beans (Jelly Belly is the brand our jelly bean snob family always picks!) since they had so many fun flavors!
Even the black ones tasted good!
OK, I have to make a confession.
I didn’t come up with this idea myself.
There, I said it!
In fact, my six-year-old “blondie girl “came up with it.
We were racking our brains on how to decorate with jelly beans because my first plan fell through.
As I was thinking, thinking and thinking, my blondie squealed out, “Mom, look at this!”
She simply, yet adorably constructed a cute flower out of jelly beans — only she called it a bear.
Love that girl!
But, all I could see was adorable flower petals and the perfect cupcake topper!
See, this idea is so simple your kiddos can step in and help decorate!
Don’t you just love those simply cute recipes?
Before you bake these cupcakes, here are our best baking tips!
HOW TO BAKE THE BEST CUPCAKES
Use butter instead of oil in your cake mix.
Just melt your butter and measure it like you would measure the oil. It’s a super simple swap!
Add an extra egg.
If your cake mix calls for 2 eggs, use 3.
You get the idea!
Avoid overbaking.
You’d rather have a slightly underbaked cupcake than an overbaked one!
Wait for the cake to completely cool before frosting.
You can let the cupcakes cool in the fridge if you’re in a hurry!
