Awesome dads don’t nearly get the recognition they deserve. But today, I want to take a few minutes and talk about an amazing dad in my life — my husband. And to celebrate this Father’s Day of 2015, I think we should all have a moment of silence and drink Orange Creamsicle Shakes. Dads especially deserve to have a creamsicle mustache this week!
Thirteen years ago my husband became a father to our first-born son. My husband had a full schedule — nine hours of working and job, followed by three and a half hours of college classes. He continued that rigorous schedule for four years — without complaint.
But even during the busiest years of his life, he made time to play and connect with our son on a daily basis. And it didn’t just stop with our first-born son — he continued to interact and connect with our subsequent children in later years as well. No matter what responsibilities are thrown at him, he still takes time to be an involved, loving father.
Being a dad to six kids isn’t an easy task. The financial burden is great, and the emotional burden is even greater. Still, my husband handles it like a pro.
Maybe you know a dad like that too? If so, let him know he’s doing better than he thinks!
When all the stresses of daily life, I’m sure it’s easy for dads to get disheartened and feel like they’re not doing enough. If you have an awesome dad in your life, don’t hesitate to let him know that he’s doing an amazing job.
Want to know a simple way to let the dad in your life know how much you appreciate him? Grab your fave orange juice (You know…the Minute Maid® one.) and a carton of vanilla ice cream. Hey — any excuse to buy ice cream is a good one — right?
Then, follow the simple recipe below and surprise that special dad with the most dee-lish creamsicle shake known to man. It reminds me of those orange creamsicle popsicles I loved as a kid!
It’s just a small, simple gesture of kindness of that more-than-deserving dad in your life — but it will make a huge difference in his day. Just wait and see.
