Rice Krispie treats are a perfect recipe for any party!

Kids and adults love this classic treat that’s all dressed up for fall.

Ingredients Needed for Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispie Treats

  • Mini marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Rice krispie cereal
  • Pumpkin pie spice (optional but makes them taste like real pie)
  • Orange gel food coloring

How to Make Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispie Treats

Melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot.

Stir until melted and combined.

Remove from heat and add in the rice krispies.

Mix well.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop the mixture into individual muffin tins.

To make the pie filling portion, melt butter, pumpkin spice and
marshmallows in a pot over medium heat.

Continue stirring it until all is melted and well combined.

Remove marshmallow mixture from the heat and add the orange gel food coloring until you reach the desired color.

Add in the rice krispies cereal.


Use a cookie scoop to transfer the filling into each crust.

Use your hands to firmly pack down the filling so it’s flat.

Allow to cool for about 1 hour before serving.

Top with whipped cream for garnish.

Can you Freeze Rice Krispie Treats?

We do not recommend freezing Rice Krispie treats.


Tips for Successful Rice Krispie Treats


To prevent any kind of sticking, line your muffins tins with greased parchment paper.

I lightly spray the parchment paper with a little nonstick spray.


Also, some people prefer a browned butter flavor.

After making this recipe one time, try using browned butter for a more golden type of flavor.

For the crust

  • bags of mini marshmallows (Total 24 oz)
  • 5 tbsp butter
  • 6 cup rice krispie cereal

For pie filling

  • ½ bag of mini marshmallows (8 oz total)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (optional but makes them taste like real pie)
  • 3 cup rice krispie cereal
  • Orange gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. Start out by making the crust portion.
  2. Generously grease a regular sized muffin pan.
  3. On medium heat, melt butter and marshmallows in a large pot.
  4. Continue stirring until its all melted and combined.
  5. Remove from the heat and quickly add in the rice krispies.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, scoop the mixture into each muffin tin. To make the indention press firmly with a ¼ cup-measuring cup.
  8. To make the pie filling, melt butter, pumpkin spice and
  9. marshmallows in a pot over medium heat.
  10. Continue stirring it until melted and well combined.
  11. Remove marshmallow mixture from the heat and add the orange gel food coloring until desired color is reached.
  12. Add in rice krispies cereal and use a cookie scoop transfer the filling into each crust.
  13. Pack down the filling so it’s flat.
  14. Allow to cool for about 1 hour before serving.
  15. Top with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spice for garnish.
