I love muffins. I mean looooooooovvvvvvvvvvveeeeee them! These triple chocolate banana nut muffins are perfect for a chocolatey-get-up-and-go morning. And moms need those, don’t we?
My kids love waking up to home-made muffins, but I don’t always have oodles of time in the morning to whip them up — even though they are pretty easy-peasy to make. But I have a secret. A secrety-secret. I bake the muffins the night before and toss them in the oven just a few minutes before my kids wake up so they can still enjoy a warm, home-made muffin. Shhhh! Don’t tell my secret! ;0)
And when kids know a homemade muffin awaits them for breakfast, they’re extra quick to jump out of bed and head to the dining table. So there you go, another mom hack for you today: get your kids out of the bed with a fresh batch of chocolate muffins!
This is a completely original, super-fun recipe. Who do you know that puts chocolate cocoa mix into their chocolate muffins and dee-lish chocolate milk?
My kids did watch me bake this batch of muffins because they couldn’t wait to finish off the chocolate milk. They were eying the box of milk in the fridge because they’ve already enjoyed the sweetness before. “Mom will you pllleeeeeaase make the chocolate muffins so we can drink the rest of the milk…PPPLLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSEEE?” whined several of my kids.
How could a mom say no and wait to make a batch? This mama couldn’t.
I understand their love for chocolate milk. Chocolate milk and me go waaaaay back. Oh yeah. Late at night when nothing else will help you relax, a nice cold glass of chocolate milk will hit the spot.
Oh, and one more yummy ingredient makes them become not single or double, but TRIPLE chocolate muffins. Mmm-hmm. You guessed it — chocolate chips.
I ever-so-slowly stirred those best-ever muffin ingredients on planet earth right into the muffin mixture.
I totally don’t care they weren’t invented for muffins, because they should have been. Sure, blueberries are awesome for muffins, but chocolate…oh, chocolate.
And I have yet another sneaky trick up my sleeve when it comes to triple chocolate muffins. I make a BIG batch — 24 muffins — so my kids can have an easy, after-school snack that I don’t have to cook or bake again. And I love seeing my kids eat home-made snacks and meals.
