Sparkling Mango Citrus Drink

When my family and I plan special occasions and family nights, I always try to think of a fun drink to make. Shakes, smoothies, teas, punch, floats — you name it and our family has tried it to try to add a dash of fun to our day-to-day family life. And let me tell you, this sparkling mango citrus drink was a HUGE hit!

Six and a half years ago, my family journeyed to Southeast Asia and spent two years learning another culture. During those two years we worked closely with another family to learn the language and the culture. And that family was full of smiles and hugs! I’m sure the parents in that family didn’t always think they were doing things right, but you could tell their kids were happy and loved their parents immensely.

That sweet, close-knit spirit is something I desired for my family too!

There was one thing about those parents that stuck out to me as “doin’ good.” I mean, they seemed to firmly believe that their family needed to have scheduled fun time together. You know — family life beyond chores, education and extracurricular activities. Specific time set aside every single week for the family to just relax and have fun together. Kind of like a mini, at-home vacation!

Their idea was so contagious that it inspired our family to start the same tradition — and you know what? We love it! Every Friday night we plan to stay up late, eat fun snacks, watch movies, play games and anything that our family labels as “fun.” Taking that one night per week to spend with our family has created strong, happy bonds and memories in our family!

And I bet you’re doing something this very week that’s creating a special bond with your family too!

You see, all parents on the parenting journey are super-busy these days. Whether we’re busy cleaning our homes, working an outside job or busy helping others, its hard to always focus on our kids. But a lot of parents are doing better than they think!

I meet moms who read books to their kids every single night. I meet other moms that snuggle up with their kiddos and watch cartoons on Saturday mornings. Other moms make an amazing kid-approved breakfast every single Saturday. Some other moms take their kids to the library and park every single week.

Those things may not seem much, but they are — and you are showing your love and care for your child through those frequent and thoughtful gestures.

So, even if you’re doing something as simple as making your family a Sparkling Mango Citrus Drink, you are “Doin’ Good.”

But hey, let’s talk about this amazing drink for a minute!

I love fresh, ripened mangoes. Mmm…and so do my kiddos! This drink takes the amazing flavors of fresh mangoes and orange juice to create a celebration in your mouth! And of course, we add some sparkling water to keep things bubbly and fun!

And, guess what? This drink is seriously almost fool-proof! My kids love to stand by and watch the blender whip up this citris drink. They grab their glasses and wait for the tangy sweetness to pour out!

When things heat up and you want to share a moment or two with your family, this fun, sparkling drink will do the trick! Enjoy!
