We used homemade whipped cream in this recipe because we absolutely refuse to use the whipped, cream-like mixture people call whipped topping. (Gagging noises commence.)
Making homemade whipped cream is a cinch — don’t be intimidated.

Homemade whipped cream is ready in just a few minutes, so be careful that you watch it closely!
Our biggest mistake we’ve made (my daughers and I) is letting our whipping cream whip too long.
Then we end up with super-yummy butter.
And did you notice these tarts are absolutely adorable?
They’re completely perfect for serving at your next party or holiday celebration!
And they’re bite-sized! Just one or two bites and they disappear!
Just be warned — they can become addicting!
Make sure you make plenty for your crew!
If you want to jazz thees tarts up, make sure you place the whipped cream into a piping bag or a plastic sandwich bag and slowly pipe the whipped cream on top — like a cupcake!
Then, you can sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs or even some lemon zest for an extra dash of color.
We kept it simple this time and just let the whipped cream be our only garnish.

Oh, and even though technically you do have to pre-heat the oven and lightly bake your tart cups, this is still considered a no-bake key lime pie recipe.
Because the key lime pie mixture isn’t baked and yes, there’s barely any baking time required!
The crust can even be optional if you want to create key lime pie pudding cups!
Just leave out the phyllo cups altogether and serve the key lime pie in between layers of whipped cream in a dessert cup!

- 3 packages mini phyllo shells, 45 total shells
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- cup ½limeade concentrate
- 2 1/2 cups homemade whipped cream
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Place the mini phyllo shells on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 10 minutes until golden brown. Set aside to cool.
- In a small bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and limeade concentrate. Mix well until smooth.
- Spoon the mixture by heaping teaspoons into the cooled phyllo shells.
- Use a piping bag to pipe the whipped cream onto the tarts.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 12 hours before serving. Makes 45 mini tarts.
