Today, I’m sharing some pretty amazing uses for laundry detergent!
Combined with a few other products or even just water alone, this household item packs a lot of punch in helping you clean your home.

Amazing Uses for Laundry Detergent
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #1: Baseboards, Doors, Cabinets, and Molding.
Prepare a pitcher of warm water mixed with two tablespoons of both borax and liquid laundry detergent.
Use a sponge or cloth with the solution to clean these hard surfaces.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #2: Carpet Cleaner for Machines.
For a natural way to get my carpets fresh and clean, I pour equal parts water and vinegar into the carpet cleaner’s reservoir.
Although the smell from the vinegar dissipates as the carpets dry, adding some of amazing-smelling, liquid laundry detergent, will give the carpets a wonderful scent.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #3: Carpet Stains.
For newly stained areas, work both baking soda and powdered detergent into the stain and let it sit for several minutes.
Vacuum away the residue.
For tough, set-in stains, mix water and 2 tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent together in a spray bottle.
Spray the solution onto the stain and let it sit for several minutes.
Use a clean cloth to blot the stain and clean it away.
Repeat if necessary.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #4: Hand Soap.
Mix equal parts laundry detergent and water into a squirt bottle.
Pump a small amount into your hands, wash, and dry.
This is especially great to use if you’ve been painting or working in the yard and have some tough stains on your hands.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #5: Heavy-Duty Washing.
For really tough stains, mix two capfuls of liquid laundry detergent with equal parts baking soda and vinegar.
Use the solution to pretreat stains by applying it directly to the fabric.
Pour the remaining solution into the dispenser on your washing machine and run the load.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #6: Kitchen and Bathroom Cleaner.
Mix 5-7 tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent into a gallon of water.
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
With your newly mixed cleaning solution and a sponge or cloth, begin wiping down surfaces.
Just like laundry detergent cuts through grease and grime on your clothes, it will also power through stains and scum on bathroom and kitchen surfaces.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #7: Mopping Solution.
Fill your mop bucket with warm water.
Add 1/2 cap of liquid laundry detergent and mix it in.
Use the solution to mop away dirt and grime from your hard floor surfaces.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #8: Pre-treatment for Laundry Stains.
A small amount of liquid laundry detergent applied directly to a stain is an effective pre-treatment option.
For a little more cleaning power, dissolve 1/4 tablespoon of Borax into a capful of liquid laundry detergent.
Spread the mixture directly onto the stained fabrics before placing them in the wash.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #9: Stain Remover (for those tough stains around your home including pet stains).
In a spray bottle, mix 2-3 tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent and 2-3 tablespoons Borax.
Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups water depending on the size of your spray bottle.
Shake the bottle to mix and dissolve the Borax.
Spray the solution on the stain.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #10: Toy Cleaning Soak.
Fill a sink up with warm water.
Add a few tablespoons of liquid laundry detergent.
Wash the toys in the sink, rinse, and leave them to dry.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #11: Upholstery Cleaner.
Mix 1/2 cap of liquid laundry detergent in with a gallon of water.
Dip a cloth into the solution and begin scrubbing the upholstered surfaces.
This is especially effective on microfiber couches.
Genius Way to Use Laundry Detergent #12: Wrinkle Release.
Fill up a spray bottle with water.
Add a teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent.
Water alone will work, but fresh-smelling detergents will give the solution a nice scent.
Spray the solution onto the wrinkled fabric.
Shake and smooth the fabric out.
Repeat these steps until the wrinkles are gone.
Allow the fabric to dry.
